A six part series inspired by the infamous writings of Anais Nin and set in Morocco of 1955, Little Birds tells the story of two women whose lives – and those of their lovers – become entangled in Tangier International Zone. Lucy Savage (Juno Temple) is an American heiress, fresh off the boat and finding it a challenge to navigate the sexual, personal and political tensions of Tangier at the time. Cherifa Lamour (Yumna Marwan) is a dominatrix, famous in a town where anything goes. As both women struggle to find personal independence in a country on the verge of escaping its colonised past, a passionate melodrama unfolds. Little Birds paints a vivid and vibrant picture of how private desire and public politics interact in a distinctly modern, witty and entertaining way. With a stellar cast also including Hugh Skinner, Raphael Acloque and Nina Sosanya as well as international stars Rossy de Palma and Jean-Marc Barr, Little Birds will air on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in 2020.
